Labor Day Weekend

It's already week three? How did that happen? My schedule has been absolutely packed since move-in day and I feel like I add three more things to my planner every day. It was nice to have a long weekend, however, the shortened week is extra stressful because it makes it seem like you have so much less time. Balancing classes, track practice, my part-time remote job, and all of my other jobs on campus has been a little difficult, but there haven't been any issues... yet. I feel like I am bound to slip up at some point, whether that be missing a meeting or forgetting to write my blog post again. I usually keep digital post-it notes on my laptop to remind myself of what I need to do throughout the week, but there are simply too many events to put on my little notes, so I have had to force myself to write in my planner. Now I just need to figure out how to remind myself to check that every day!

This weekend, like the rest of my week, was super busy. Saturday was filled with sports! For the past few years, I have had a little job with sports information, but I only really worked when they were short on people. This year, however, I have been promoted to the photographer! There were a bunch of sporting events this past Saturday, and I took pictures at the cross-country meet, football game, and tennis matches. Afterward, I edited the pictures I took while the others wrote the articles that go on onusports.com. Once we were all finished the articles were posted and the galleries of the photos I took were attached to each article. It was a very busy day, but I had so much fun taking pictures!

On Sunday, I headed home to see my family. A little after I made it home, my dad also got back - with two new cows! We watched them meet our other cows for a bit, then we headed out for dinner to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. My aunt, uncle, and one of my cousins that all live in Columbus were able to come to dinner with us as well. Since they live so far away, we don't get to see them very often, so it was nice to get to eat dinner with them!

I wasn't able to stay at home for very long on Monday since I had to be back in Ada to work out at three. But, I had just enough time to enjoy some of my mom's homemade pizza before I left! She has been perfecting her pizza recipe for just over a year now and it is such a special treat. Every ingredient besides the flour, cheese, and some toppings comes right from our farm. The sauce is homemade from tomatoes grown in our garden and if we put any beef toppings on, those come from the cows we have raised.

It was such a relaxing weekend and hopefully, I can go home soon with a little bit more free time.

  1. Beautiful pictures! I have always dreamed of having farm animals and if I had cows I would be so happy!
