Pinterest

As I was contemplating what I was going to write about this week, I realized that my weekend was EXTREMELY BORING. I mean, I really didn't do a whole lot. The past few weeks have been packed full of meetings and events and everything in between and I was just thankful to have a moment to breathe. I cleaned my room and some of the house, I went for a little bike ride, and I just took the extra day to relax, because I needed it. Am I extra stressed for this week because I wasn't productive? Yes. Was it really worth it? Also, yes. Anyways - I'm sitting on my bed thinking "what the heck am I going to write about", and I look over at my dresser. And you're probably thinking "wow, I can't believe she's actually going to write about her dresser." And I'm here to tell you that yes, I am actually going to write about my dresser.

Now, this isn't any old dresser. I didn't buy it from Ikea, and I didn't bring it from home, and I didn't get it from the Flea Market in Ada. Where did I get it then? Well, my dresser is a DIY (and my boyfriend made it so that's pretty sweet of him).

The infamous dresser and Brandt

So, again, you might be thinking "why are we still talking about this dresser, she could have made her blog post about literally anything else." Well, as I was thinking about my dresser, I started to wonder how many people in the world have gotten an idea from Pinterest and actually followed through with creating their DIY? You can look up the facts, millions on millions of people are on Pinterest, and who knows how many boards people have created over the years. But after making a few initial Google searches, I can't find any information on how many people have made something from an idea they found on Pinterest. I'm sure if I searched a little harder, I could probably find some database that would give me a good idea of what that number might be, but I'm sure there's no way of knowing what the actual number is.

I know that personally, I have utilized Pinterest for many projects and ideas. But again, I haven't created everything that I have saved on my Pinterest boards. There are recipes that I saved in either middle school or early high school that I still haven't tried yet!

For the sake of this assignment, how many other things are on my to-do list, and the fact that I'm not that invested in finding an answer, I have resorted to asking you fellow bloggers what your best guess is. How many projects do you think people have actually created from an idea they found on Pinterest?

  1. I love your dresser and it's great that you and your boyfriend got to do that together! I also love Pinterest and use it to dream about things that I want and to envision my life, but I don't really look at DIYs on Pinterest that much.
