Homecoming Weekend!

Image
It's official, I finally have something exciting to write about! This past weekend was homecoming, and boy, was I busy. Since I wrote last, my roommate Kenzie and I finished painting our banner for the parade. We went with the postcard theme that has been trending lately. Our banner was complete with all of the staple ONU features - the Hill building, Klondike, and of course pictures of our teammates from track meets.  Saturday morning, we walked in the parade and handed out candy. Main street was filled with so many smiling faces and it was so much fun walking in the parade! The last time I walked in the homecoming parade was my freshman year. It's so crazy to think about how different things were, after all, it was long before anybody even thought of COVID.  After the parade, a couple of my teammates and I headed over to the homecoming tent. While we were there, we met up with some of our friends that have already graduated. At the tent, there were a bunch of clubs and campus

Sick Week

Image
Fellow bears and bloggers, if you haven't noticed, the weather has changed. I believe I talked a little bit about this in my last blog or an even earlier one. But the fall season is in full effect now. The leaves have changed colors, some have already fallen to the ground, and the temperature has dropped too much for my liking - I started wearing a coat this week. Although it is my lighter coat, it is still a coat, nonetheless.  This weather change also brought some sort of sickness upon me this past week. I was taking Tylenol throughout the day and sleeping whenever I got the chance. I was miserable all week, and it was just no fun.  Since I was sick, I absolutely did not take any pictures to attach to my blog so here is a visual representation of what I looked like all week: Anyways, with all of the extra time spent in my bed, I was able to watch a lot of TV. I have a TV in my room, but I don't have a lot of opportunities to actually watch it. Most of the time I have it on f

Fall Break Update

Image
Bloggers, this past weekend was a long one! ONU had their fall break this weekend and I was able to go home for a few days. I went almost everywhere I could think of over break.  Of course, I had to hit all of the staple Brookville spots. On Saturday, I spent almost the whole day with my brother's girlfriend, Josie. First, we went to Coffee On Main, the local coffee shop, then we headed to Canal Days in Metamora. Metamora was a stop along the Whitewater Canal, back in the old days, but in today's world, they are more of a tourist location. There are a few permanent shops in the town that primarily sell handmade goods year-round. However, every year on the first weekend of October they have a festival where the shops as well as other vendors who handmake goods and food trucks set up for the long weekend. So many people from near and far travel to Metamora every year to get ahead on their Christmas shopping, or they go just to shop! Josie and I walked around almost all day and ev

Busy Weekend in Ada

Hey there, fellow bloggers - I had a super busy weekend again!  Friday night was super exciting... my boyfriend and I caught up on homework. But since we were able to do this, we had more time this weekend to do some fun things! There were a bunch of sporting events for me to take pictures at this weekend. I took pictures at the football game on Saturday and the tennis match Sunday morning. The football team played Mount Union, which is usually very good at football. We ended up losing the game, but I still got some really cool pictures for the website! Saturday night, my roommate and I finally got to finish an art project that we've been planning since probably the start of the semester! We saw the idea on Tik Tok to put plaster or spackle all over a canvas and take a tool that would make a kind of like ribbed pattern. We mostly made arches or half circles with the tool. We had to wait for that to dry overnight, but we planned on painting the patterns to make them pop out even mo
