Last blog... ever?

Hey there bloggers, you read that right, this is my last blog for the semester, and possibly my last blog ever. Although I enjoy telling the internet all of the exciting tales of my weekends in Ada, at the end of the day I don't enjoy it enough to continue writing when it's not for a class. This is definitely the last one for this semester, but I'm not sure if I will have any blogging assignments for any of my classes next semester.  So, for one last time (maybe), here's my weekly update of what I did this weekend! Saturday, I spent almost my entire day at the wrestling invitational at ONU taking pictures for sports information. I have only ever been to one other wrestling meet that I know of, and it was either last year or the year before. Wrestling is... interesting. Even after spending the whole day there and watching extra close through the camera lens, I still have no idea what was happening. Some matches were rather long, and others lasted no more than 15-30 secon

Thanksgiving Break

Image
What a busy week! This past week was Thanksgiving, and I definitely needed that break from school. I have been super stressed about my capstone project, but after submitting our third deliverable and not having classes for a few days, I have finally found my zen again! These next couple of weeks before winter break are going to be so busy with all of the projects wrapping up and the presentations that come with them. But, after my much-needed break, I think they will be a little bit easier than I was expecting. It will still be stressful, but not the end of the world. I am more than ready for this semester to be over, I have good vibes about the next one and can't wait for it to be here. This semester has been so wild and really just needs to be over with.  Anyways, over break, I was able to get my camera and play around with it too! I took pictures at my brother's girlfriend's basketball game and also took some of our farm animals (a bunch of cows and our dog, Maggie). Aft

Another Weekend at ONU

Image
Hey everyone, welcome back to my weekly recap of what I did this weekend! I do occasionally do interesting things during the week, but there is never enough to write about for an entire blog post. For example, today, Hailey and I went to Lima for lunch at Panera and a quick grocery run, and this evening I watched intramural basketball for a little bit before going to the library.  However, this weekend still takes the cake. On Saturday, I worked for 12 hours taking and editing pictures for sports information. There were four athletic contests on campus that day, and I got to take pictures during all of them... in the snow. My workday started at 10 a.m. getting some quick edits done from the track media days, before getting started at basketball at 10:30. I stayed at the basketball game for one half before heading out into the first snow of the year to take pictures for the first soccer game of the day. Our men's soccer team played the first game of the first round of the NCAA tourn

Spontaneous Weekend

Fellow bears and bloggers, welcome to another edition of "what did Anna do this weekend." Seriously, it seems like nothing happens throughout my week that is worthwhile to write about. However, this weekend was just outside of my normal weekend activities. Usually, I sleep in as much as I can Saturday morning, head to whatever sporting event is happening to take pictures, edit said pictures, and then get a snack on my way home from McDonald's or Taco Bell, then watch TV until I fall asleep. Then, on Sundays, I will clean my room, watch more TV or play on my phone, hang out with my roommates, or do laundry before finally doing homework.  However, this weekend there were no home sporting events. So instead of my usual weekend routine, I finally did something different for a change! Saturday morning there was a Polar Preview Day which is an event for high schoolers to come to ONU and talk to the different colleges, go on tours, and meet with faculty. I helped at the Dicke Co

Photography (part 2)

I have some exciting news! My dad bought a camera for me, and it is on its way to my house as we speak! After months of deciding which camera I want, I finally decided on a Canon 6D. Needless to say, I am so so so excited about this new adventure. If you read my blog a couple weeks ago, you read about my newfound hobby of photography. I have always loved taking pictures, and this hobby has been off and on since I was a little girl. It picked back up when I started my internship this summer and was finally able to use some real equipment. Since then, I started taking photos for ONU Sports Information at tennis matches, volleyball, soccer, and football games. As my skillset has grown, I decided that it was time to get my own setup. However, if you know anything about photography, you know that it is a very expensive hobby. The price tag is definitely the thing that has set me back from beginning this journey in the past, but my dad offered to pay for the equipment as long as I promise to

Homecoming Weekend!

Image
It's official, I finally have something exciting to write about! This past weekend was homecoming, and boy, was I busy. Since I wrote last, my roommate Kenzie and I finished painting our banner for the parade. We went with the postcard theme that has been trending lately. Our banner was complete with all of the staple ONU features - the Hill building, Klondike, and of course pictures of our teammates from track meets.  Saturday morning, we walked in the parade and handed out candy. Main street was filled with so many smiling faces and it was so much fun walking in the parade! The last time I walked in the homecoming parade was my freshman year. It's so crazy to think about how different things were, after all, it was long before anybody even thought of COVID.  After the parade, a couple of my teammates and I headed over to the homecoming tent. While we were there, we met up with some of our friends that have already graduated. At the tent, there were a bunch of clubs and campus

Sick Week

Image
Fellow bears and bloggers, if you haven't noticed, the weather has changed. I believe I talked a little bit about this in my last blog or an even earlier one. But the fall season is in full effect now. The leaves have changed colors, some have already fallen to the ground, and the temperature has dropped too much for my liking - I started wearing a coat this week. Although it is my lighter coat, it is still a coat, nonetheless.  This weather change also brought some sort of sickness upon me this past week. I was taking Tylenol throughout the day and sleeping whenever I got the chance. I was miserable all week, and it was just no fun.  Since I was sick, I absolutely did not take any pictures to attach to my blog so here is a visual representation of what I looked like all week: Anyways, with all of the extra time spent in my bed, I was able to watch a lot of TV. I have a TV in my room, but I don't have a lot of opportunities to actually watch it. Most of the time I have it on f
